The term “zoometry” refers to the measurement and comparison of the sizes of different animals and/or animal parts. It is a field in which man acquires knowledge about structure by studying nature. The resultant insights are then applied to man-made creations.

The piece Zoometry was realized at the University of Illinois Experimental Music Studios. Its sounds were obtained from a Buchla 200 Series synthesizer and the recordings of various animals. The analog sound source material was then subjected to digital editing and processing software, in an attempt to combine natural and synthetic objects into a single construct.
